From his breakthrough in the ‘70s through to the end, David Bowie was so many things that TASCHEN celebrates. For the daring and the dreamers the world over, he brought a unique creative vision, fearless self-expression, and some of the greatest music of all time.
To honor this remarkable artist, TASCHEN Gallery is delighted to announce the opening of a new David Bowie tribute show, Starman Remembered. Backed by popular demand, the exhibit will reimagine last year’s much-loved Shooting for Stardust with 45 prints from Mick Rock’s prized David Bowie portfolio. From spectacular performance shots to intimate backstage moments, Rock’s images capture the many facets of Bowie’s creativity with particular candor. We see the shifting, sparkling phenomenon of Ziggy Stardust cavorting before rapturous crowds, and the quiet, private reflections of, in Rock’s own words, a “sweet, sweet soul”. With many images previously unseen, this is a timely and particularly personal celebration of an irreplaceable legend and an eternal inspiration.
