The Halsted Gallery opened its doors in November of 1969. At the time it was one of only a handful of galleries in the country dedicated solely to the promotion of fine art photography. Today the gallery is proud to be the oldest photography gallery in the US. The exhibition will highlight pieces from the photographers we have worked with over the past 50 years as well as correspondence from the photographers to Tom Halsted actually establishing the market for selling photographs. The exhibition also other historical items that give a glimpse into the creation of the fine art photography market.
