David McKay and Matthew Rosenquist, both recent inhabitants of Los Angeles, responded to their new environments, presenting two bodies of work that develop the glamour of strangeness.
David McKay was born in Sydney, Australia. As an award winning production designer, he has exhibited internationally in New York, London, Tokyo, and Sydney. He was also one of the original artists for iconic surf-wear company Mambo. He lives and works in Los Angeles.
Matthew Rosenquist was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He acquired his MFA in painting from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in 1998. He works and lives in Los Angeles.
