| More on the Installation
For 2018’s 4th edition of the Cabinet de l’Art, The Switch presents ‘Stay Fruity!’, a pop up shop built as a scenario/ installation within the gallery space, showcasing the Artists’ Surf Cultural aspiration & heritage.
"Open most days about 9 or 10. Occasionally as early as 7, and sometimes as late as 12 or 1. We close about 7:30 or 8. Occasionally as early as 4 or 5, and sometimes as late as midnight, or later. On some days we are not here at all, but lately we have been here a lot, unless surf’s up, then we are not here at all."
| More on Basile Jeandin
Basile Jeandin is a Swiss graphic designer living in Lisbon, mostly thanks to Sofia (Greek representative) and the waves. After a brief attempt at managing things for others in corporate industries, he decided that creating was more important and valuable to him. Basile enjoys working on custom designs within areas such as illustration, lettering, branding, web design and editorial. Above all, he favours print making and analog photography.

His father is a surfer, he is a surfer, his children will be surfers. Growing up in Paris and the Basque country, he has been exposed to the urban and to the rural side of life. This influences his way of being. Surf is his ... Interesting times. Times when the boundaries blur. There’s no limit. No segmentation. SKOYA is part of a new breed. Not a writer. Not a painter. Not a poet. Not a thinker. Not a force of nature. Not a skater. Not surfer. Not a traveler.
But all of the above.
| More on ‘Fruities Surf Club’
“Some like it fast & furious, we like it slow & fruity. It’s all about the grace, it’s all about the love, it’s all about the glide - we’re not here to compete, and we’re definitely not here to prove anything to ourselves nor to others. Here to be, here to flee, together in unity.
None of it is ours, none of it is yours - we’re just a lucky bunch - cherish it while it lasts, cuz’ it sure won’t be forever. No origins, no borders, no segmentation, and without a doubt no segregation. Crispy salty skins, whether you boardshort it or skill’ it with a hoodie.
If you can’t share it with us, we’ll for sure share it with you - in any case we’ll keep a banana smile on our face. Peachy cheeks. Strawberry eyes. High on tides. As easy as it gets - be raspberry happy. (Shit. I might just got a speed ticket - oh well, I’ll go and eat/ grab a courgette.)
Shaka bra’…stay fruity!”
