The Music Photo Gallery is pleased to announce its participation in the upcoming Photo London Digital 2020 - one of the world’s most important international photography events. London Photo is a world-class fair and a catalyst for London’s dynamic photography community.
It will take place online from October 7th through October 18th. Coming together from London’s major museums, auction houses, and galleries large and small, Photo London harnesses the city’s outstanding creative talent and brings together the world’s leading photographers, curators, exhibitors, dealers and the public to celebrate photography, the medium of our time.
The Music Photo Gallery will be featuring “The Punk Years” - vintage photographs by Roberta Bayley and Danny Fields. This show presents a selection of Roberta and Danny’s rarely seen images which chronicle the New York and London punk scene in the 1970s and 80s.
Roberta Bayley captured some of the most memorable moments of punk and rock and roll’s icons and iconoclasts. We are including a unique piece, the Ramones first album cover image, printed by Roberta in 1976. Also included are a special selection of her vintage Cibachromes and Polaroids.
Danny Fields shows for the first time a selection of his original vintage contact sheets and presents “My Ramones” Portfolio, a selection of photographs from his years as manager, friend and photographer of the band.
The show includes incredible images of the Sex Pistols and The Ramones who brought an aggressive attitude and new rebellious image to the rock scene, as well as images of Patti Smith, Blondie, Television, Iggy Pop, Joe Strummer and Richard Hell among others featuring works of Marcia Resnick and Bobby Grossman.
