ESKFF x Euro Residency - The Eileen S. Kaminsky Family Foundation works in partnership with Galleri Ramfjord in Olso, Norway to curate artists to receive the Martin and Lorraine Studio Residency. Every year, during the summer, ESKFF designates the month of July to the international group of artists.
In 2016, the EURO Residency consisted of the following artists: Steen Larsen, Karoline Kaaber, Luis Bivar, Gil Goren, Siri Gindesgaard, Randi Strand, and Moira Franco.
Steen Larsen’s recent paintings are images of personal driving experiences distorted with water. He uses his memories of father’s Alzheimer’s as inspiration in his paintings and photographs.
Portuguese contemporary figurative artist, Luis Bivar, uses comic strips and embraces imperfection in his paintings. He believes that a work in progress should be spontaneous and that “error” is part of any artist’ expression.
Karoline Kaaber’s artistic focus has been inspired by empty streets. Her new paintings consist of portraits of people with a focus on youth and transitional phases and psychological maturity.
Siri Gindesgaard paints women in saturated atmospheric landscapes. Often exploring the psychological trauma and experiences and individual
Randi Strand’s paintings are inspired by the concept of time. The movement of time and change are central ideas in her figurative works, often using the same woman moving through the time and space in her paintings.
