This personal and intimate exhibit takes you on a tour along Donna Winn's work over the years. Initiating from her soul, Donna's artwork is related to her observations, or how/what she feels emotionally. Each painting represents a part of her personal journey, her inner world.
A personal and intimate exhibition, taking you on a tour along Donna Winn's work over the years.
When talking to Donna about her inspirations and her work, you soon realize that she has stories to tell about each of her paintings. How they came to be, and how they evolved. Each work representing a small part of her personal journey, her inner world.
Initiating from her soul, each painting is often related to either what Donna observes or how/what she feels emotionally. Textures, values, lines, and shapes are chosen depending on what the painting is about. Communicating a specific (cultural) message or a certain feeling in need of being expressed. “Then when it’s all done, I can be surprised. Where did that all come from? That’s that magical moment when it all just flows.”
Not afraid of being different from most, Donna’s aspirations lay with wanting to be at the base of something new. A new approach. She tells me “I like to inspire people to open themselves to something different.”
We invite you to join us for the opening reception on Saturday, March 2nd, 2:00-5:00 PM. Donna is in attendance and singer-songwriter Murray Rodgers will perform from his newly released CD, "I'm A Shoe". RSVP before March 1st via Eventbrite: https://donnawinn.eventbrite.ca
As with each Try it ART exhibition, we are fundraising for a local non-profit. This time we thought it was suiting to help raise funds for the Bragg Creek Community Center. Small artworks, donated by various local and international artists will be for sale for the duration of the exhibit. Full proceeds benefit this deserving local cause.
