John Nieto is one of America’s most influential contemporary artists. He concentrated on themes that have no limit in deeper meanings. He painted saturated and vivid portraits of people and animals. He applied bold strokes to add dimension and a geometric character to the canvas.
Ventana Fine Art has for the past thirty-three years featured new paintings by John Nieto (1936-2018) for its Indian Market show, devoting most of the gallery space to Nieto originals. For Indian Market 2019, Ventana will feature Nieto works in a range of mediums including original paintings new to the gallery, serigraphs, etchings, and sculpture. Over more than five decades as a fine artist, Nieto has been honored with exhibitions in New York City, Paris, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, Laguna Beach, Palm Desert, San Francisco, Dallas, and Santa Fe. His works have been acquired by 22 major American museums, and by collectors on five continents. Celebrating a Master opens with a reception on Friday, August 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. and runs through September 11, with representation of the Nieto Estate ongoing.
