Visions West Contemporary, Denver, CO is pleased to announce Wildtime, Montana-based artist Sandra Dal Poggetto's first solo show in Denver. The artist’s reception opens the show on Friday May 6th at 6pm and will be on view through June 5th. The exhibition will feature new large scale paintings along with small scale works on paper and pelts.. Dal Poggetto's lyrical, yet austere large scale paintings capture the character of the inland west in a vital and new vocabulary. Dal Poggetto’s work has been featured in Atelier6000, PDX Contemporary, Missoula Art Museum, Plains Art Museum, Museo ItaloAmericano, and San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art. She received an M.A. in Painting and Drawing from San Francisco State University, a B.A. from the University of California at Davis, with honors in Art Studio, as well as having studied in Italy.
Dal Poggetto’s essays on the relationship between art and landscape have been published in academic and literary journals, and anthologized. She is is a recipient of the Jentel Foundation Residency, Helene Wurlitzer Painting Fellowship, Pouch Cove Foundation Residency, twice a Ucross Foundation Fellowship and a Playa Invitational Residency Award.
