ViVO Contemporary's artists invite you to unplug for a while and go offline to discover the rich visual experience in their upcoming exhibit. Exploring the concepts of edges, lines and contrast, both real and virtual, through unique paintings, sculptures, assemblages, constructions and mono prints, this new exhibit will also connect the viewer with more detailed information on each artwork and artist via links on the ViVO web site.
Vincent Faust explores hard line mathematical abstraction, merging it with organic, natural forms in his unique metal sculptures. Works by Patricia Pearce and Joy Campbell (above left) reinvent books into deliciously detailed, impactful sculptures that speak to the uniqueness of printed matter in this digital age. Linda PicosClark combines the precise with the accidental as her paintings render the offline processes of metamorphosis and entropy. Ann Laser’s mixed media teabag pieces employ tactile elements and zen design in a grid-like, linear form. Gary Oakley and Barrie Brown’s dreamlike pieces take the viewer deep into the subconscious far from the technology-laden world. Ilse Bolle’s rational, organized paper constructions also emit a deeply poetic, handmade vibration. Artist Warren Keating uses digital video to inspire his figurative oils that blend technology with traditional media.
During the exhibit viewers will be able to interactive with a digital kiosk that will provide more information about the artwork and artists.
