The exhibition Untitled # 2 (Portrait) is a range of options for portrait photography, opposing six different positions.
Although the delimitation of the classic pictorial space within portrait photography is often used as a reference of authenticity as a conscious stylistic device, it simultaneously opens the possibility to strategically analyze a found or constructed staging. The realistic or artificial living and image space of the portrayed person shows, seemingly casual, characteristic initials of themselves and their environment, or it can even completely exclud them. In addition, a contracted work such as a portrait or fashion shoot for print media could appear as content-related limitation, yet, it does not have to interfere with the work’s autonomy. This combination rather creates a synergistic value.
