Precision in Porcelain: The Work of Peter Pincus
Wexler Gallery is pleased to present Precision in Porcelain: The Work of Peter Pincus, a curated online exhibition by the talented young ceramist.
Wexler Gallery began showcasing Pincus’s work in 2015, including his porcelain vessels in shows such as Collective Design, Salon Art + Design and Fog Design + Art with great success.
“Peter’s work appeals to a wide audience spanning from traditional ceramic collectors, to interior designers and contemporary art collectors,” says Wexler Gallery’s Associate Director, Victoria Rosenberger. “His skill and techniques have garnered acclaim from his peers in the ceramic community, but his work transcends those traditional boundaries, making him a perfect addition to our art program.”
A seemingly simple form can take over 100 studio hours of surgical precision from start to completion. Each vessel is unique in form, but also incorporates a meticulously studied individual color strategies. His mastery of the classic vessel form has allowed him to build upon that knowledge to create pieces with a modern edge that are unmistakably his own.
Challenging the traditional labels that categorize art, Wexler Gallery exhibits work that coexists in the expressive realms of design, fine art and contemporary glass and ceramics. Questioning and testing the boundaries of these fields, Wexler Gallery aims to present functional and non-functional work that consistently celebrates innovation as much as aesthetic beauty.
Wexler Gallery is located at 201 North Third Street in the historical district of Old City Philadelphia and is open to the public Tuesday-Saturday 10:00am – 6:00 pm., and Monday by appointment.
