Whitestone Gallery Hong Kong is pleased to announce Yayoi Kusama Exhibition starting from Jun 26th.
This exhibition will showcase the wide-range of works from the artist`s early career in the 1950s to recent creations including Sculpture, Soft-sculpture, Installation, and paintings.
Many people recognize the artist as Queen of the polka dots or from her Pumpkin sculptures. However, in the course of her long career, the Japanese artist had tried many different approach to her arts: watercolor works influenced from her early education of Japanese Traditional Painting and surrealism, Infinity-Nets series as a pop and a minimalist pioneer, happenings, environmental installations and soft-sculpture.
While exploring freedom of different approach to her creations, there are also coherent images of accumulation, Repetition and the notion of Infinity which goes beyond the limited space.
This exhibition will be an extensive and whimsical introduction of the artist. And spectators who walk through each room filled with different elements will re-discover this rather unusual artist’s unique and Infinite world.
