“Wells Takes Over the Art Basel Week”
The artist will exhibit at Wynwood 28
For the first time in his career, the Argentinean artist arrives in Miami to exhibit his most recent creations, which are characterized by their geometric abstraction, at Wynwood 28 which is located in the heart of Miami´s artsy neighborhood.
The opening exhibition will take place during the Art Basel Week. With an impressive series that includes over 15 works, the artist Luis Wells arrives for the first time in Miami to exhibit his newest creations, and if that was not enough, the occasion will take place during the Art Basel Week, one of the most important art events in the world.
The 80-year-old Argentinean sculptor who possess an international and distinguished career path will offer an appealing collection of his latest creations, among which his stunning acrylics and his well-known toys stand out. These moving sculptures fascinate spectators because of their colors and dynamic figures. In his solo exhibition called “Wells Takes Over the Art Basel Week” people will be able to appreciate the newly creative works where you will clearly see his approach to geometric abstraction.
Wells is part of a generation of prolific artists, like Polesello or Juio Le Parc, who gave life to pictorial movements that have become a milestone in the history of art. In fact, Wells is considered as the “Father of Informalism”; he has received the Konex award for being one of the most influential plastic artists in his country; and one of his works is part of MoMA´s permanent collection in New York.
Therefore, Wynwood 28 is proud to present this exhibition in which art lovers will be able to see at first hand the work of this talented and unique artist.
