"Wonders of Nature" features a solo exhibition of artist/gallerist Yuan-Ru Hsieh, whose emotive, strong art style is influenced by Abstract Expressionism. Her artworks makes an immediate, powerful impression on her viewers with the strong rhythmic cadence to her pieces, forged by the skillful use of her fingers and palms pressing and pushing the paint across the canvas. Hsieh admires the masters of the Gutai movement who rejected the brush and painted with their bare hands, feet, and bodies. Hsieh feels a freedom and disinhibition when painting with her bare skin on the canvas. Art is a way of expressing her emotions onto the canvas to be shared, forming a connection between the artist and the viewer. Yuan Ru Gallery is pleased to hold its first exhibition in conjunction with the "World of Women for World Peace" symposium in Taiwan, in the presence of US Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson, as well as international dignitaries from several countries, including Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka. Art is a powerful medium which crosses boundaries of language, nationalities, and ethnicities; a universal language which can make statements and connect the world's people.
