About
The Springfield Art Association operates two gallery spaces. SAA Collective is located in downtown Springfield's Stuart Broadwell Pharmacy Building, and the nearby M.G. Nelson Family Gallery represents some of the best artists in the Central Illinois region and nation wide.
The Springfield Art Association is one of the leading promoters of the visual arts in central Illinois. A community-based, non-profit organization, the SAA operates two gallery spaces, provides art education opportunities for the greater Springfield area, and preserves and interprets historic Edwards Place and the collections of the SAA. The M.G. Nelson Family Gallery, located on the SAA's main campus, hosts rotating exhibitions and sells artwork in a variety of media and styles as it seeks to represent traditional and contemporary visual arts from across the country. The SAA Collective, housed in downtown Stuart Broadwell Pharmacy Building at 105 North 5th Street, serves to showcase the work of its juried members.
