Alfons Alt goes beyond the boundaries of the photographic and pictorial arts by mixing them in his "Altotype".
Alfons ALT revisits ancient photographic processes with a technique of unique prints that he has called "Altotype". The photographic process is pigmentary and not silver. He chooses the subjects behind his camera and then works on his prints as a chemist, engraver or painter. He chooses the parts of the subject that he wants to make disappear or highlight. The subtlety and strength of the pigments combined with the mysterious effects of drying make each work mysterious and poetic. His works are presented in various European galleries and more particularly in France and Germany. They have been acquired by numerous public and private collections.
