The Locker Room Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of paintings by Jasper socia @jaspersocia (https://instagram.com/jaspersocia?utm_medium=copy_link). A euphony of color and form, the works are a window into an unbound visionary expression of and reverence for the joy and mystery of life and the spirit of the “unseen” world.
Jasper ushers in a deeply sentimental and bravely uninhibited energy to this exhibition series. Showcasing a completely new body of work, these pieces are intended to depict an array of symbolic and figurative themes through bold figures and layers of vivid color. For the artist, the intention is always to create without limitation, channelling an energetic celebration. While he is inspired to paint around others, he also revels in his ability to disconnect from his surroundings to completely immerse himself in the work. From this place he can allow the atmosphere around him to influence what is conveyed on the canvas. Jasper comes from a long line of artists. He was working in a different industry, when his grandfather (who was dear friends with Henry Miller before his death), came to him in a vision and told him that it was time to carry on the family legacy. Completely untrained, Jasper prides himself on having never taken a technical lesson. Instead, he lets his own emotions determine what comes across on the canvas, with the goal of exploring personal joy and opportunity for continued growth, exploration, and evolution.
